Job-share training, placement programmes and practical implementation for successful job‑shares
Between 2021 and 2023 SMTJ designed and delivered job-share training and placement programmes for ScreenSkills aimed at the specific needs of all HETV departments. See here for further info.
Our programmes trained and coached freelancers and their HoDs on how to build successful job‑sharing relationships, how to pitch themselves to companies and how to structure their job share according to role and production needs.
Our training included info sessions for both HETV workers and their HODs, outlining why job‑sharing is needed, the solutions it can bring as well as the practical ‘How to’.
This included job-share pairs working in the Art Dept, Costume, Make‑up, Camera, 2nd ADs, Locations and Post.
In 2022-23 we ran Share The Next Step, which trained and placed Series Producers in Unscripted across the UK. This training was aimed at tackling the lack of women in senior management positions by supporting them to step up at a point where historically women’s careers have stagnated.
